Tamashii in fact means “soul” and the word comes from tama, or “jewel” and therefore a “jewel of the soul”.

Since the dawn of civilization, Lapis lazuli has been one of the most well-known and celebrated gemstones. It was often used during rituals performed by Mesopotamian peoples, believed to be the abode where the purest essence of the divine resided.
